Marina Park in Port Blair is the city’s easiest and most relaxing waterfront stop. Set beside the harbour in the heart of town, this tidy park has open lawns, shaded benches, paved walkways and a steady sea breeze, and it is just a few minutes’ walk from the jetty where boats leave for the nearby islands. Locals come here in the evening to stroll, sit and watch the water, and visitors find it a pleasant place to slow down between sights or to end a day of sightseeing.
The park sits in the central part of Port Blair, close to the waterfront and several of the city’s main attractions. This guide covers what you will see, the best time to go, how to reach it, how long to allow and how to combine it with nearby sights. If you would rather have your sightseeing and transfers arranged for you, explore our Andaman tour packages, planned by Andaman Emerald Travels, a travel team based in Port Blair.

Marina Park is a compact but well-kept park along the harbour front. It has open grassy areas, paved pathways, benches, small gazebos and landscaped corners, and from many spots you can see the water and the boats moving across it. It is not a place for big attractions or loud entertainment. It is a place to walk slowly, sit in the breeze and watch the city’s waterfront life.
Because it is central, the park is easy to include in almost any Port Blair plan. It is next to the main harbour area and close to several important sights, so it works well as a rest stop, a meeting point or the final stop of the day. In the evening it fills with families, joggers and couples, and it has a relaxed, friendly feel.
The paved paths along the water are the main draw. A slow walk takes in sea views, passing boats and the bustle of the harbour. It is especially pleasant in the early morning, when the air is cool, and in the evening, when the light turns golden.
Benches and shaded spots are scattered through the park, and the breeze off the water keeps it comfortable even on a warm day. It is a good place to rest after sightseeing, have a cold drink and watch the sky change colour.
Small food stalls and cafes in and around the park sell snacks, drinks and light meals, and some offer local flavours. Options are simple, so for a full dinner head into the city. See our guide to restaurants in Andaman for ideas.
The harbour, the benches and the park’s landscaping make an easy backdrop for photographs, particularly at sunrise and in the evening light. Boats and the water give plenty of movement and colour.
The park overlooks the busy harbour, so you can watch fishing boats, ferries and tourist boats come and go. It is a fun way to spend a few minutes, especially for children.
The park is close to the jetty area where many island boat trips begin, including trips to Ross Island and North Bay. Boat departure points can change, so confirm which jetty your trip leaves from before you plan your timing.
| Highlight | What It Is | Approx. Time Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Waterfront walk | Paved paths beside the harbour | 20 to 30 minutes |

Timings are approximate and vary with crowds and weather.
The park can be visited all year and is generally open from early morning until the evening. The best time of day is early morning or late afternoon into evening, when it is cooler and the light is soft. The best season is October to May, when the weather is pleasant. Rain showers make the paths slippery, so carry an umbrella in the monsoon months.
